We are pleased to announce the 2025 CPS-IoT Week Ph.D. Forum, which will be held across all four participating conferences of CPS-IoT Week.
The Ph.D. Forum provides a unique platform for Ph.D. students in their final years to present their research, either through an oral presentation or a poster presentation. Participants will benefit from feedback provided by senior researchers in the field, gaining insights on their presentation skills, Ph.D. research, and even career advice.
The event will be held on TBD.
Ph.D. students interested in participating will be selected through a competitive call for proposals for both oral presentations and posters. This event also includes the opportunity to compete for the Best Presentation Award and the Best Poster Award, which will recognize the best oral presentation and the best poster, respectively, within each conference. While actively participating in the forum via an oral presentation or a poster is based on a competitive selection process, attending the forum is free of charge and open to all members of the CPS-IoT Week community.
Eligibility
- Ph.D. students with at least three years of Ph.D. research experience, i.e., no first, second, or third year Ph.D. students, or alternatively researchers who have completed their Ph.D. studies during the 2024/2025 academic year. Students closer to graduation have higher priority.
- Ph.D. students with at least one accepted or published conference or journal paper.
- Ph.D. dissertation topic must be relevant to the CPS-IoT Week community.
Submission Information
We are seeking submissions from Ph.D. students who are currently working on their dissertation or have recently completed their Ph.D. studies. The submission should contain: (1) a two-page PDF abstract of the dissertation (in two-column format, using 11-12 pt. fonts and single-spaced lines), including name, institution, advisor, contact information, estimated or actual graduation date, and bibliography (if applicable), and (2) the students’ CV including a list of all papers authored or co-authored by the student during their Ph.D. studies. Submissions missing information or not complying with the two-page limit for the abstract will be disregarded.
Submissions have to be sent to the Ph.D. Forum Co-Chairs via email (see contact information below). This email should explicitly mention for which of the four participating conferences the submission is intended for.
We note that the abstract is the key part of the submission and should be written so that a member from your community (i.e., from the aforementioned participating conference that you affiliate with) can understand the content and impact of your Ph.D. dissertation. It is recommended to highlight the motivation for the Ph.D. topic, the novelty of the proposed approach, and the theoretical and practical impact of the conducted research.
Awards
There will be a Best Presentation and a Best Poster Award for each participating conference.
Timeline
- Submissions due: TBD
